King Richard's Faire is a yearly tradition. How could you not love such an event. Women, men and children alike dress in Barbaric garb. The women dress in corsets with their breasts adorned up to their necks. There are fairies, elves, gargoyles, and trolls.

Not only are their acts, but also there is what one of the seller's called a "medieval flea market." There is everything from incense to axes and swords, from pet dragons to capes and cloaks. I ended up leaving with fifty incense cones. I purchased dragon's
blood, frankincense and myrrh, pachouli, sandalwood, amber wood, and black rose. I also left with hand crafted oil lamp and a suede hat which has made some fabulous appearances this Fall.

King Richard's Faire is known for their large portioned grub. Peasant bread (fried dough),
turkey legs, and fountains of beer and wine. My boyfriend and I, Ryan, had our traditional turkey legs. I couldn't finish mine so his brother helped me out.

We had a fabulous time. It was the first real cold day of the year, but it didn't bother us much. We layered up. There were a few new acts and attractions this year. One of the new attractions was the Fairy Trove. It's more of a wish tree. They had a basket of string sitting on a rock and you take a piece and tie it to the tree and make a wish. It was quite touching standing under the tree with all the strings of wishes blowing in the wind.

I can't wait until King Richard's Faire next year to see what's in store.
